As I get more and more interested in the topic of conscious leadership in organisations, it makes me think about the sheer importance of the interconnectedness of different systems. Organisations are complex systems of men and women, who are part of these complex systems as employees, consumers, suppliers and as a community. Also, as organisations act as an interface between humanity and environment, a leader's systems perspective and understanding are very important. Complex dynamics arises from the interaction of these different systems, and leaders can play a very important role in directing these interactions. Leaders should be conscious of the challenges associated with these systems such as; the environmental challenge, gender inequality, wealth disparity and mental health issues. Leaders should be more aware of the long-term effects of their decisions on employees, consumers, the community and most of all: the environment. A conscious leader's decisions and actions can make a real impact on the lives of people and their environment.
